One unintentional source of humor in subtitles comes from illegal DVDs produced in non-English-speaking countries (esp. China). These DVDs often contain poorly-worded subtitle tracks, possibly produced by machine translation, with humorous results. One of the better-known examples is a copy of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith whose opening title was subtitled, "Star war: The backstroke of the west". [3]

Note: DVD-lab compiles the subtitles to the subtitle stream before you close Subtitle window. Having subtitles compiled before main compilation is a big timesaver. When you do any other changes to the project, the subtitles will not have to be recompiled, but directly the *.sp? stream will be used. Similarly if you do any changes to the subtitles they have to be recompiled.

Within the PS packet, there are PES packets, and like AC3, the header for the ones containing subtitles have a 0x000001bd header. As for AC3, where there's an ID like 0x80+x), there's a subtitle ID equal to 0x20+x, where x is the subtitle ID. There are 32 possible different subtitles on a DVD.
