Ascension Counseling and Substance Abuse Center is a parish agency that provides outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment to Ascension residents. The agency is funded by a parish property tax and accepts Medicaid, insurance, and individual payment. Fees are assessed according to family income based on a sliding scale that begins at $2. Offices are located in Gonzales and Donaldsonville. The professional staff includes psychiatrists, master’s level mental health counselors, substance abuse counselors, and a nurse. Ascension Counseling is licensed through the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
The Substance Abuse Center of Kansas (SACK), in existence since 1995, is a non-profit organization specializing in the prevention, treatment and case management of individuals affected by substance abuse. SACK supports this mission by serving as a community resource provider to improve and support recovery alternatives with an emphasis on consumer choice and professional assistance through a continuum of care. SACK specializes as a consumer advocate supporting all methods of recovery and is committed to the development of quality partnerships for the benefit of consumers across the State of Kansas.

The Massachusetts Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center's mission is to promote public safety by providing a safe, secure and structured treatment environment for court ordered civil commitments. This is accomplished through medically monitored detoxification services, educating them with the tools to affect positive change and plans for aftercare in order to promote a healthier and more meaningful lifestyle upon their return to the community.

CWCC Reception This team works under contract with the local school district to provide on-site mental health and substance abuse services to children and adolescents. Services include individual and family counseling, as well as on going consultation with parents, teachers, principals, and other school district personnel regarding the needs of the student. These services are provided year-round, and include an Elementary Team and a Secondary Team.

A family history of substance abuse may be a risk factor for early cocaine use and for rapid dependence on cocaine. The following discussion on pediatric cocaine abuse almost exclusively applies to adolescents. However, accidental ingestion of cocaine, passive inhalation of crack cocaine smoke, and transmission through breast milk have been reported as means of cocaine exposure in infants.

The College is dedicated to educating its students about substance abuse and maintaining a drug-free learning environment. In addition to education, the College may discipline students who are involved in substance abuse. To further the goals of this policy, each student shall receive a copy of this policy and shall have available to them a copy of the Student Handbook.
