The Student Leadership Team consists of three categories: Associated Student Government, Student Activities and Residence Life Staff. All student leaders at TVCC will receive intensive training prior to the fall quarter and participate in regional conferences throughout the year.

The Office for Student Involvement and Leadership affirms that leadership is an inclusive group process that brings about positive results for the community. Inherent within this definition is the idea that all university students can contribute and develop as leaders through involvement in teams, groups, organizations, and individual endeavors that require significant collaboration. These involvements reinforce and provide a practical outlet for the ideas and information that students receive in the classroom.

In addition, the Director of Student Leadership & Programming serves as the primary advisor to the student clubs and organizations on campus. The Director advises The Undergraduate Student Council, coordinates the Calendar of Events, and advises the Club Sport Teams.

Paid leadership positions are available to Iowa State University students as well. Students can serve as campus tour guides, members of various media boards (The Daily Editorial Board, KURE campus radio executive board, etc.), learning community peer mentors, Destination ISU team leaders (a new student orientation assistant) and residence hall Community Advisors.
