  1. United States Senate -- Bush Administration
Senator Joe Biden was elected to the United States Senate in 1972. He was only 29-years-old at the time. According to Borders, Senator Biden is "recognized as one of the nation's most powerful and influential voices on foreign relations, terrorism, drug policy, and crime prevention." Borders says that he is the leading voice in the Democrat Party against the current Bush Administration's handling of the war. His new book "offers an intimate series of reflections on political leadership, overcoming setbacks and a testament to the promise of the United States," according to Borders.
  2. John Adams -- John Kerry
John Kerry's troubles have largely been forced on him by the Democratic Party platform. He has been given the unenviable task of presenting it as the War Party when in fact it is not, nor does it want to be. The Democrats could have chosen to become a real anti-war party, in which case it would have nominated Howard Dean or it could have elected to become a genuine war party and chosen Joseph Lieberman. Instead it chose to become the worst of all combinations, an anti-war party masquerading as the war party.
  3. The L Word -- Reports
Among those left to swelter in the D.C. heat that August was one Thomas J. Pickard. No fly-fishing for him. In his role as acting FBI director, Pickard had been privy to a top-secret, comprehensive review of counterterrorism programs in the FBI. The assessment called for a dramatic increase in funding. Alarmed by the report and by the mounting terrorist threat, Pickard met with Attorney General John Ashcroft to request $58 million from the Justice Department to hire hundreds of new field agents, translators, and intelligence analysts to improve the Bureau's capacity to detect foreign terror threats. On September 10, he received the final Operation Ignore communique: an official letter from Ashcroft turning him down flat.
  4. Racial Profiling
Racial Profiling is one of the top civil rights issues in the United States today. Across the country government officials, civil rights advocates, academics, law enforcement executives, and members of the general public are discussing this social issue. In June of 1999 President Clinton signed an Executive Order directing the Attorney General to develop a plan whereby Federal Agencies would begin to collect data on the race and gender of the people they stop to question or arrest. Federal legislation (The Traffic Stops Statistics Study Act of 2000, H.R. 1443, S.821.) that provides for the collection of data from traffic stops by federal officers has been introduced to both Houses in Congress in a bipartisan effort. In 2001, President Bush has directed Attorney General John Ashcroft to place Racial Profiling and Data Collection as a top Justice Department priority.
  5. George W. Bush -- Terms
Bush began his second term with an emphasis on improving strained relations with European nations. He appointed long-time adviser Karen Hughes to oversee a global public relations campaign. Bush lauded the pro-democracy struggles in Georgia and Ukraine. In March 2006, Bush visited India, leading to renewed ties between the two countries, particularly in areas of nuclear energy and counter-terrorism cooperation. Midway through Bush's second term, many analysts observed a retreat from his freedom and democracy agenda, highlighted in policy changes toward some oil-rich former Soviet republics in central Asia.
  6. Pressure Switch -- Differential Pressure Switch
The Model 24 Vacuum Switch was designed to be a compact, cost-effective differential pressure switch for applications such as proof-of-flow, filter monitoring, etc. It depends on two opposing diaphragms to sense pressure on the "High" and "Low" pressure outputs of a system. The resulting pressure differential is transmitted through a linkage to a snap-action electrical switch, providing an output when a pre-set difference is exceeded. This set point can be easily modified while under pressure via an external adjusting screw. This adjustment "pre-loads" the actuation mechanism, which results in excellent vibration-resistance. Straight pressure and vacuum versions, with a single diaphragm, are ... available.
  7. Bush -- Presidents
Although Bush was enormously popular in the aftermath of the Persian Gulf War, his standing with the U.S. public plummeted as domestic problems and a sour economy took their toll. In 1992, Bush lost the presidential election to Democratic challenger Bill Clinton, the governor of Arkansas. Clinton's campaign offered a promise of change and a "new covenant" between citizens and government.
  8. Unkle
Unkle’ is a film made for little kids. But there is a bleak chance that it will either entertain or enlighten its target audience. The director has tried to add some spooky chills and kiddie thrills in the movie, but they lack the punch to entertain kids today.
  9. Tehran -- Capital
For better or for worse, Tehran is the political, economic and cultural capital of Iran. Clogged with traffic and choked with smog, it's not the most immediately inviting of Iran's cities - no spellbinding mosques, rose gardens or ancient ruins - but visitors will find more on offer the closer they look.
  10. Racial Profiling -- Practices
Racial profiling is not an acceptable practice under Canadian law. It is a violation of the right to the equal protection of  the law without discrimination guaranteed under s. 15 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The problem is that racial profiling is difficult to prove absent the collection of data proving a disparate impact on certain communities or groups.
