Cink hasn't won on the PGA Tour since the NEC Invitational two years ago, right after Hal Sutton picked him for the '04 team. He was a safe pick, and one of the few Americans who have shown any form the last two months with three top 5s. Cink tied for 24th at the PGA Championship, closing with a 69 while playing with Pavin.

Stewart Cink Six days after U.S. captain Hal Sutton added him to the team, Cink completed the best performance of his career by turning the final round of the NEC Invitational into a showcase of poise and putting. He never let anyone within two shots of the lead to become the first wire-to-wire winner on the PGA Tour this year.
Cink has taken rapid jumps up the PGA TOUR ladder. Now in his fourth full year, he has increased his earning total in each of his first three years. Last year's earnings of $1,255,100 ranked 32nd.
Cink won the MCI Heritage earlier this year and was starting to play his best golf with the Ryder Cup approaching. Sutton ... liked the fact Cink ranked No. 1 in putting on the PGA Tour.
Cink tied for seventh last week at the BMW Championship at Cog Hill, finishing at 12-under for the week. The performance helped him climb into the top 30 and earn a spot in this week's Tour Championship. He ranks 24th on the money list with earnings of $2.23 million.
