"Steve Adams served a Spanish-speaking mission to Spokane, Washington. Upon his return, he worked as a counselor at Especially for Youth for four years. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Utah, a master's degree in youth leadership from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D in sociology ... from BYU. A graduate of the School of Contemporary Music in Boston, Steve Adams has performed on over 40 recordings, including four with Boston's Your Neighborhood Saxophone Quartet and three as a leader for the Nine Winds label. Adams joined Rova in 1988. He has written the music for seven productions of the annual California Shakespeare Festival and contributed compositions to the repertoires of the Empire Brass Quintet and the violin/marimba duo Marimolin.
