Stephen Colbert: Shows
built 135 days ago
Stephen Colbert: President? Stephen Colbert is. The humorous talk show host is current leading reader voting. It’s not hard to see why. Aside from having an ice cream flavor named after him, the guy is putting people On Notice left and right. Watch out.
Stephen Colbert poses with the Cornell Big Red Bear mascot When Stephen Colbert opened his Oct. 26, 7 p.m., Cornell show, campaign music was blaring, a giant bald eagle head was projected behind him, and American flags commanded the stage. "What an honor and privilege it is for you to have me here tonight," he quipped.
After Colbert received an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from Knox College, the show began listing his name in the ending credits as "Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, D.F.A." During the show, the character will sometimes refer to the degree and the qualifications he mistakenly believes it bestows on him.
Colbert ... voiced 2 significant roles in Adult Swim's Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law: the characters of Phil Ken Sebben and Myron Reducto, which ran for three seasons on Adult Swim. The show recycled classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters in what could loosely be described as a "courtroom drama". The protagonist is Harvey Birdman of the classic 60's cartoon, Birdman and the Galaxy Trio. He works at law firm Sebben & Sebben, defending other Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters who have gotten themselves into legal scrapes.
Stephen has many advantages as a candidate. He isn’t spending tons of money on campaigning, so he will emerge from the marathon with no labor intensive obligations to lobbyists. He’ll have no need for secret White House meetings with oil executives. When ExxonMobil begins to rewrite energy policy, he’ll tell them to take a hike. (Please, Not in Alaska.) When Big Pharma sends an ex Princeton cheerleader to peddle a drug plan, Stephen will tell her to go home and take a cold shower. (He’ll take an aspirin?) No one will be able to break his ties to the common man and woman… or to his lovely (first) wife and his (semi-beautiful) child.
Stephen Colbert announces that the night's "Wørd" is truthiness in the premiere episode of The Colbert Report Colbert ... wrote and performed on the short-lived Dana Carvey Show before collaborating with Sedaris and Dinello again on the cult television series Strangers with Candy. He gained considerable attention for his role on the latter as closeted, gay history teacher Chuck Noblet. It was his work as a correspondent on Comedy Central's news-parody series The Daily Show, however, that first introduced him to a wide audience.
