The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They are members of the North Division of the American Football Conference (AFC), in the National Football League (NFL). The Steelers are the oldest and most championed franchise in the AFC. The team has appeared in six Super Bowls and, along with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, is one of three teams to have won the Super Bowl five times. They have appeared in 13 Conference Championship Games and have hosted more conference championship games than any other NFL franchise. They are the only team in NFL playoff history to win a Super Bowl after being seeded sixth in the playoffs, winning three consecutive games on the road followed by a Super Bowl XL victory in Detroit on February 5, 2006 against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Steelers' 21-10 victory in the Super Bowl was their record-tying fifth, but the first since 1980, and the first ever for Bettis and Cowher. Pittsburgh Steelers has a rich history. The team was founded on the 8th of July, year 1933, as an expansion team through Arthur Joseph Rooney, Sr. The team of Steelers during that time was known as the Pittsburgh Pirates. The team by that time was a member of the East Division of the NFL. The first three seasons of the Steelers as Pirates in NFL made them strive as they finished in 5th, 5th and 3rd place, respectively. The Pirates had a good record when they were able to finish in second place of NFL East with six wins and 6 losses during 1936. In 1940, the Pittsburgh Pirates was renamed the Pittsburgh Steelers, to represent the city’s leading steel industry.

The Steelers ... had something of a rivalry with the Jacksonville Jaguars, which hearkens back to the now defunct AFC Central Division. This was mostly when both Bill Cowher and Tom Coughlin were the respective head coaches, and the Steelers accused the Jaguars of stealing the Steelers' practice squad players just for the sake of having the team's playbook. Although the two teams are now in separate divisions, with different head coaches and mostly different players, this rivalry has continued to a degree, and the teams have played every year except 2003.

Ticketmaster's access control system works in tandem with TicketExchange and makes it easier and faster for fans to get in to the stadium on game day. Through AccessManager, all home game tickets will be "scanned" for validity at the stadium entrances. This system monitors entry traffic, helps identify invalid tickets, speeds the replacement of lost tickets, and helps eliminate wrong day event tickets.

The Browns had the play covered well as Willie McGinest lined up as an interior defensive lineman before dropping into coverage. Left without an open receiver, Roethlisberger tucked the ball in, made McGinest miss on a move to the outside and set up first and goal at the 2.
