Despite initial concerns about the move to Texas, the Stars have enjoyed success both on and off the ice. Stars players take to the ice starting August 13th as the Junior B players will begin a series of 2 a day workouts and their Junior C counterparts will skate once per day. In between the ice sessions will be a regimen of off ice conditioning, strength training, classroom and video analysis. The full schedule will be posted on the Stars website. On ice continues every weekday in August and concludes on Labor Day Weekend as the Stars B and C teams will host divisions in the Buffalo Hornets Labor Day Tournament. Teams from the CSHL, MET, CHA and Empire Leagues are scheduled to participate.

Stars center Mike Modano is only four points away from Phil Housley's NHL record for scoring by an American-born player (1,232 points). He's struggled mightily ... far this season, tallying only two points in nine games, and will be looking to break out against the Coyotes. The Stars went head to headwith the host Little Caesars club during intermission of the Fighting Siouxgame in a five man shootout. In front of12,000 screaming fans, the Stars' five shooters (Anthony Hamburg, Armandde Swardt, Matt Maher, Ryan Daugherty and CJ Ludwigdefeated the Caesars' shooters as Stars' goalie Adam Brown stopped four offive shots.
