Starbuck is an easy-to-use and customizable book reader that can read HTML. It can ... accommodate accented texts, such as those in French. This program can be associated with document types so that a double-tap on a document will open it in Starbuck. Document shortcuts can be created for those of both the Windows CE and StarTap variety, so that when the documents are tapped they will open Starbuck automatically. The clean book reader screen uses 100 percent of the available space for the text. Pressing the Action button located on the exterior of the palmtop PC activates Starbuck's menu.

Starbuck has three churches (Catholic, Lutheran, and United), a community hall, skating and curling rinks, and an early/middle years school. Also there is a butcher shop, a general store, a convience store, a hardware store, a hotel, an insurance office, a credit union, a trucking company, a landscaper, and a large grain terminal. As well there are several other businesses in and around Starbuck.

In 1902, still practicing in Southern California, Starbuck designed a new structure in the Mission style for the Methodist-Episcopal Church in Fresno. He designed another Methodist-Episcopal Church in Bakersfield in 1903. Shortly thereafter Starbuck relocated to Oakland. He continued pursuing commissions in the San Joaquin Valley after this move, including his proposal for a Fresno County Almshouse in 1906. While practicing in Oakland, Starbuck formed a brief partnership with William Wilde, with whom he appears to have begun his design for a Fresno Masonic Lodge building in 1910.

Starbuck returned for one episode, "The Return of Starbuck", in Galactica 1980. This episode (which is Dirk Benedict's personal favourite out of all of his performances) involved Starbuck crashing on a barren planet after fighting off a Cylon attack. Starbuck rebuilds one of the Cylons, 'Cy', who eventually sacrifices himself to defend against a second Cylon attack. Starbuck ... rescues a woman, Angela, also marooned on the planet, and constructs a makeshift escape vessel to safely send Angela's soon-to-be born son to the colonial fleet. This boy, who would later become the phenomenal, twin-personalitied genius known to the Colonial fleet as Dr. Zee, would later recall Starbuck as being his surrogate father. After her "death", Angela would later appear upon a remote cliffside, looking up the sky and speaking to unseen forces that Starbuck is a good man before disappearing one final time.

Starbuck is involved with the defense of the Temple of Five but is severely injured, leaving her rescuer, Dualla, to return them to Galactica (Rapture). Helo recognizes the strange circular mandala (created 4,000 years before) in the Temple and its resemblance to a symbol that Thrace painted in her apartment. When shown the symbol, the recovering Thrace is darkly reminded of Leoben's prophesy.
