Star Wars Battlefront: Star Wars Battlefront Ii
built 221 days ago
The stellar online play that marked the original Star Wars Battlefront returns even bigger and better for Star Wars Battlefront II. Players can locate their buddies and track their stats as they battle alongside more players than ever (up to 24 on PS2, 32 on Xbox, 64 on Windows).
The PSP version of Battlefront II is the first Star Wars entry for the handheld, and the developers decided to make a number of changes based on the limitations of the hardware and the ムpick up and play' gaming style. Unfortunately, getting rid of long load times didn't make the list of things to remove, but the entire story mode did. Story mode is replaced by ムChallenge Mode'. That's three sets of missions, each based around a premise. ムImperial Enforcer' has you killing indigenous species such as Gungans, Ewoks, Jawas and Wookies; ムRogue Assassin' has you tasked with assassinating Imperial Officers, with a bonus for anyone else you can eliminate. Finally, in ムRebel Raider' you need to collect critical equipment or contraband for the Rebel Alliance.

Star Wars Battlefront II improves upon the original game’s single-player experience with open-ended, mission-based objectives inspired from all six Star Wars films. The compelling storyline spans more than 12 new locations, many from Episode III, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. All-new classic movie moments complete the Star Wars Battlefront II experience, as players battle within the interior of the Death Star and visit Princess Leia’s blockade runner, the Tantive IV, as seen at the beginning of Episode IV A New Hope. In addition, at certain key moments within the battles, players can feel the Force as a Jedi.

Fans of Star Wars will greatly appreciate the ability to explore the many worlds, stories, races, characters, vehicles, heroes and villains in a way never before delivered in either film or game. It is a must have game for Star Wars fans, as well as the best LucasArts game ever made. For those less of a fan of the LucasArts franchise, it's still a good team-based shooter with solid and enduring offline modes, plus as good an online mode as can be found on Xbox, and it's most definitely a worthy addition to any games collection.

Star Wars Battlefront is the biggest selling Star Wars game of all time, so it should be no surprise we’re getting a sequel. What is surprising, though, is just how much better Battlefront II is than the original. Every single aspect of the game has been improved and new features such as space combat and the ability to use Jedi and other hero characters just seal the deal. More planets, more vehicles, more characters, more weapons – it all adds up to be more fun.

You can fight in the city of Naboo, or visit the stormy seas of Kamino, where the clone army was created. Or how about the rocky canyons of Utapau, battling within the base where General Grievous made his last stand, and where Obi-Wan went riding around on that ill-fated giant lizard. You can defend the beaches of the Wookie home world, Kashyyyk, raid the frozen world of Mygeeto, or explore amongst the gigantic plant life of Felucia, three planets that got very little screen time in Episode III, but are here in all their splendour .... You can raid the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, or fight in the factory on the fiery lava planet of Mustafar, where the first infamous showdown between Anakin and Obi-Wan takes place (they both look a lot different for the second!)
