On their initial release date Sept. 21, the "Star Wars"Trilogy DVD set and LucasArts "Star Wars Battlefront"videogame netted $115 million worldwide, reports Variety. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment did not break out the two releases, but said that 90% of the revenues came from the DVDs and a good percentage of that came from the U.S. alone. Fox and LucasFilms split home entertainment money on the original Star Wars, but the studio only gets a distribution fee for"Empire StrikesBack"and "Return of the Jedi".

LucasArts today unveils more details regarding their Battlefield 1942 clone, entitled Star Wars Battlefront. The game is set in the Star Wars universe and is due out this fall for the PS2, Xbox, and PC.

Publisher LucasArts has not officially announced that it will be making this third entry in the series, but rumors have been strong ever since the blockbuster success of part 2, and further rumors have pointed to new developer Free Radical taking command over in the next battle for galactic conquest.
