Star Fox Command: Endings
built 200 days ago
The Sargasso Space Zone... known as the Sargasso Region and Sargasso Hideout, is the third level in Star Fox: Assault. According to the game, the Sargasso Space Zone is “a hideout for all sorts of criminals” and is owned by Fox’s rival Wolf O’ Donell. On the level, the player has to destroy a number of transfer devices, before Starwolf return to the area. What follows is classic laser shoot out between the Starfox and Starwolf teams, similar to third level in Starfox 64.

Star Fox Command is highly ambitious, primarily because of the stylus controls. Only firing is done outside of the stylus, so it’s understandable that, even though the controls are wildly inventive, they are ... frustratingly difficult. The stylus pad and pen are used to turn the Arwing fighter plane, as well as for braking, boosting, nova bombs, barrel rolling, somersaults and u-turns. If you think it’s unfathomable to input so many commands simultaneously with the stylus, you’d be right.
Employing the arena style of Star Fox Assault, Star Fox Command generally succeeds at maintaining the classic shooter gameplay from the SNES original and N64 sequel. A smooth control method utilises the stylus to effortlessly move, boost, brake, roll and perform the loop-the-loops and corkscrews that have become synonymous with Star Fox games.
In Star Fox 64, the Asteroid Belt was renamed the Meteo Asteroid Field. Meteo is very similar to its counterpart in the SNES Star Fox, including the 'Meteo Crusher' as the end boss, which bears a striking resemblance to the 'Rock Crusher'. In subsequent games, Meteo is not referred to by its name, and is instead called the generic "Asteroid Belt."

"Star Fox Command" ... slightly misses the target with its ability to record your own voice, which the characters will then speak back in a strange sort of gibberish. It sounds so garbled, though, that it's hard to tell whose voice it is.

IGN: One of the big things about Star Fox is that it's actually taken drastic changes from what people expect from a Star Fox game. So why all free flying instead of what people expect, on rails? How did that decision come about?
