Kubrick was commissioned by Seafarers International Union (SIU) to shoot this 30-minute promotional film on the lives of sailors. He documented the workdays of men aboard ships and on the docks emphasizing the importance of union membership in view of the restlessness of their job.

Alongside his major feature films, the exhibition ... includes Kubrick's planning for AI, completed after his death by Steven Spielberg, and revealing preparatory work for an abandoned Napolean epic. Original sketches and restored technical equipment are being shown in public for the first time. Reconstructed film sets and special effects provide unique insight into Kubrick's processes.
