1. Stanley Cup
   The first winner of the Stanley Cup was the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) hockey club, champions of the Amateur Hockey Association of Canada for 1893. Ironically, Lord Stanley never witnessed a championship game nor attended a presentation of his trophy, having returned to his native England in the midst of the 1893 season. Nevertheless, the quest for his trophy has become one of the world's most prestigious sporting competitions.
2. Stanley Cup -- Stanley Cup Finals
   The Stanley Cup is the most storied trophy in all of sports, and the NHL Finals went to a seventh and deciding game only 14 times, to date. 3. Stanley Cup -- Games
   On May 2, 2007, the Stanley Cup arrived in Kandahar on a Canadian Forces C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. Seventeen former players played a ball hockey game versus Canadian soldiers on a concrete rink in the Afghan desert.

   It shows up in many different ways like David and Peter getting together to pay for a Stanley Cup championship ring made for their father because teams didn't give rings to players in 1950. When he was given the ring as a holiday gift, Max had tears in his eyes.
5. Calgary Flames -- Stanley Cup
   NHL tickets to see the Calgary Flames have been a part of the Alberta sports tickets market since the early 1970s, when they were located in Atlanta. The team moved to Canada in 1980, but didn't become a power in the NHL until later in that decade. They Won a Stanley Cup in 1989. The Flames won their Division in the '05-'06 season.
6. Stanley Cup -- Trophies
   A lot of Americans don't know this, but the Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy in professional sports. It's ... one of the toughest trophies to win. Listen to this, it takes four rounds in the playoffs, 16 wins, before an NHL player can skate with the Stanley Cup.
7. Lightning (Hockey Team) -- Stanley Cup
   After their breakout season, the Lightning finished the 2003-04 season first in the Eastern Conference with 106 points, second-best in the league. In the first round of the playoffs, the Lightning beat the New York Islanders. In the next round the Lightning faced the Montreal Canadians and the Lightning were able to sweep them in 4 straight games. The Lightning faced the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference finals, winning in a back-and-forth seven-game series in which neither team was able to win consecutive games, earning the Lightning their first-ever Eastern Conference championship and their first-ever berth in the Stanley Cup finals. The Lightning defeated the Calgary Flames 4 games to 3 to win their first Stanley Cup on June 7, 2004. Only three years after losing 50 games in a season, the Lightning became the southernmost team ever to win the Stanley Cup.
8. Stanley Cup -- Detroit Red Wings
   Max McNab, who won the Stanley Cup as a player with the Detroit Red Wings in 1950 and later served as the general manager of two NHL teams in a nearly 50-year hockey career, has died. He was 83.
9. Vancouver Canucks -- Season
   The Vancouver Canucks capped a 105-point season and a Northwest Division Title with a long and exciting series win over the Dallas Stars. Despite taking the Anaheim Ducks to OT four times in the Western Conference semi-finals, the boys fell short of a third round in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
10. Nashville Predators -- Games
    The NHL has suspended Nashville Predators forward Alexander Radulov was suspended for one game after hitting San Jose's Steve Bernier from behind during Game 2 of their quarterfinal series. Radulov will miss Game 3 on Monday and is eligible to return for Game 4 on Wednesday in San Jose.
