The emphasis on lighting the red lamp has ... made its impact felt on the Stanley Cup futures market. The current favorites, the Buffalo Sabres at 19-4, lead the NHL in scoring at 3.84 goals per game. The next team on the odds list, the Anaheim Ducks (13-2), are number two with 3.44 goals.
The boys were greeted by a non-stop phalanx of light as fans took pictures of the local boys with the Stanley Cup. The media attended in abundance, firstly to celebrate a momentous occasion and secondly, hoping to discover whether Scott intended to play hockey in 2007-08. Scott did offer a clue: “I’m not tired of the question; I just wish someone would give me the answer!” Rob laughed, adding, “I’ve still got a couple of weeks left to try to talk him out of retirement.” A later press conference confirmed that although Scott had not yet decided whether to retire, he would not be attending Anaheim’s training camp.

Niedermayer brought his brother Rob and teammates Teemu Selanne and Chris Pronger along for the ride for their first Stanley Cup. Rob Niedermayer is one of three Ducks left from the losing side in 2003 when Scott and the New Jersey Devils captured their third title in Game 7.
The New Jersey Devils take the Stanley Cup back to the "swamps of Jersey" for the third time in nine years in this intense seven-game series. Led by goaltender Martin Brodeur, forward Jeff Friesen and defense specialist and captain Scott Stevens, the Devils stop the Anaheim Mighty Ducks despite an incredible effort from Conn Smythe-winner Jean-Sebastien Giguere, their ace young goalie. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital Surround.
This Saturday, June 9, the Anaheim Ducks and the City of Anaheim will host a free celebration open to the public to congratulate the players and officially welcome the Stanley Cup to Anaheim. Heavy traffic is expected between the hours of 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the party starting at 6:30 p.m.
