Enos Stanley Kroenke grew up in Mora, a speck of a town in the farmlands of central Missouri. He was named after two St. Louis Cardinals baseball stars from the 1940s and '50s, Enos Slaughter and Stan Musial, but he goes by the less pretentious Stan. His father was in the lumber business. He played high school basketball.
Stan is ... the recipient of the 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, recognizing his business leadership. He has also been named the 2001 City Of Clayton Businessperson Of The Year, recognizing his and THF's significant contributions to Clayton and the long-term value that has been created. The St. Louis Business Journal named Stan as one of the 100 Leaders for the Millennium.

Stan Kroenke and Michael Staenberg first met in 1977. Their paths crossed when Staenberg was able to put a McDonald’s in a location that Kroenke believed no one could develop. Kroenke admired Staenberg’s determination and the two became friends.
Kroenke, who has a pug of her own, contacted Little Angels wanting to help. She donates money, helps at events and fosters pugs, making her one of the organization’s best supporters, Woodbury said. “She is very philanthropically orientated,” Woodbury said. “It takes a special human being to extend their love to pugs.”
Kroenke grew up in Mora, Missouri, where his parents had a hardware store and young Stan swept the floors and kept the books while he was at high school. He was a top scholar and a basketball player who scored 33 points in a game, a school record which stood for ten years. Mum and dad were baseball fans who named him after St Loius Cardinalsstars Enos Slaughter and Stan Musial, so their son was called Enos Stanley Kroenke.
What you can do: Stan Kroenke married into the Walton family, and is now one of the largest developers in the country.
