Enos Stanley "Stan" Kroenke (born 1947 in Columbia, Missouri) is an American business entrepreneur who is listed in the Forbes 400 as one of the richest people in the world. His wealth is estimated to be about $2.1 billion and based primarily on real estate. His wife, Anne Walton, is a Wal-Mart heir.
After weeks of denying any interest in purchasing Arsenal, US billionaire Stan Kroenke is rumored to be launching a takeover bid for the London Club. The takeover would not be a friendly one either as Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood said he has no plans of selling the club to “some stranger.”

Stan Kroenke is determined to raise his stake in English giants Arsenal, despite chaiman's Peter Hill Wood reluctance to handle the club to the new investor. Hill Wood was quoted saying that "he would be horrified to see ownership of the club go across the Atlantic" and supported his claims saying that other major stakeholders have no intentions to sell their share in the club. Kronke ... did cause a slight disorder in Arsenal which forced long-term vice-chairman David Dein out of the club. Main reasons for Dein's departure were attributed to "irreconcilable differencies" with other directors as it is generally believed that Dein was the main protagonist in persuading other directors to follow his steps and sell their share to American, who is not a novice to football – Kroenke owns Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids.
US sports team owner Stan Kroenke has bought ITV's 9.9 per cent stake in Arsenal for about £42m, laying out another £23m for the broadcaster's 50 per cent share of Arsenal Broadband Limited, the club's internet site. This is a huge sum for an operation that makes a profit of a few hundred thousand pounds a year. Kroenke Sports Enterprises already has a commercial and marketing agreement with the North London club and Mr Kroenke issued a statement saying, 'Because of our long-time involvement in major sports, we greatly admire Arsenal Football Club.' Arsene Wenger suggested that because of what he had seen at Arsenal, Mr Kroenke may have wanted a closer association with the club. However, Mr Kroenke may well be considering a full bid. As it so happens, an Arsenal delegation is in the United States for the open of the MSL season and is expected to have talks with Mr Kroenke.
Stan Kroenke, who is estimated by Forbes magazine to be worth more than $2bn (£1bn), is believed to have approached ITV about buying the commercial broadcaster's 9.9% stake in Arsenal. Kroenke Sports Enterprises owns the Colorado Rapids football team, the Denver Nuggets basketball team, and the Colorado Avalanche ice hockey squad. Mr Kroenke already has a link with Arsenal, having signed a marketing partnership with the club just last month. Under that deal, Mr Kroenke agreed to increase awareness of the British club in the lucrative US market.
