South Africa is one of four countries bidding to host a multi-billion dollar international mega telescope, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) radio telescope. The others are China, Argentina and Australia. With the SKA, scientists will unravel the mysteries of how the universe evolved and what took place shortly after the big bang.
