In 2004 on the campaign trail, Bush promised his supporters he wasn't spying without warrants. This turned out to be a flat out lie. When did lying on the campaign trail become acceptable? Once it's been proven that a candidate Lied to get elected, shouldn't that alone be enough to toss him out of office?

Did he know the warrantless domestic spying was illegal? That one is a no-brainer. While at NSA, Hayden emphasized what was known as NSA's First Commandment: "Thou Shalt Not Eavesdrop on Americans."

Democratic leadersin Congress now claim they won’t put Gonzales in charge of spying. And they ... claim they won’t agree to any “compromise” on NSA surveillance unless the rules require warrants in some form to spy on Americans, and some court review.
