The main objective of the Sisters in Spirit initiative is to address violence against Aboriginal (First Nations Inuit and Métis) women, particularly racialized and/or sexualized violence, that is, violence perpetrated against Aboriginal women because of their gender and Aboriginal identity. This type of violence typically occurs in the public sphere, where societal indifference often leaves Aboriginal women at greater risk.

Anyone on the internet could check to see what clubs and organizations were registered at UCI, read their descrptions, get contact info, and search/browse using keywords. This was also initated that first year.

To foster community service, Spirit Earth offers regular Holistic Healing Clinics on a donation basis. The intention of these clinics is to introduce people to various forms of energy healing at a low cost. In 1999... the Spirit Server project was accidentally left out of the ASUCI annual budget so alternative funding for the student position had to be sought. Fortunately, the student employee was eligible for work study from the federal government for having served in the armed forces so was able to continue managing and maintaining the server provided the server also be used for Veteran Services e-mail and the student also assist with Veteran Services duties.

[P]resented in 2004, the Spirit of Independence Award is given to individuals or organizations that have gone above and beyond the norm in their support of independent community pharmacy and NCPA. The inaugural recipients of the award were the members of the Community Care RxSM board of directors.

The Spirit & Place Festival grew out of a nationally prominent research project (the Polis Center's Project on Religion and Urban Culture)that examined the relationship between religion and community in Indianapolis. The notion of place shaping identity emerged when Indiana natives Kurt Vonnegut and Dan Wakefield, along with John Updike, were invited to speak at Clowes Memorial Hall in 1996 through a collaboration with Butler University. Engaged in a "public conversation” rather than a keynote speech, this lively presentation was augmented with ten other events designed to allow residents of Central Indiana to explore questions of community and identity. Spirit & Place has been an annual event since 1996.
