Speed Test
built 660 days ago
The Speed Test allows you to generate a full results report, containing download speeds, upload speeds, ping times, packet loss, trace routes and your network configuration. You don't need any technical knowledge at all.

ScanBurst is an innovative, new at-speed DFT (Design-for-Test) tool designed specifically to overcome the limitations of traditional at-speed DFT techniques. ScanBurst complements Mentor Graphic's TestKompress(R) and FastScan(TM) ATPG products by providing an environment to allow for easy insertion of scan and clock control structures for accurate at-speed testing, based on LogicVision's patented BurstMode Timing(TM). This enables 3-5X faster ATPG run times and results in 3-5X fewer ATPG patterns. It ... enables more accurate at-speed test than traditional double capture techniques. The production release of ScanBurst is available now.

Trying the first speed test that came up on Google, Speakeasy, Seattle, Washington resulted in 3.367 Mbps download, 310 Kbps upload speeds. nice (though the Clearwire service doesn't feel twice as fast as 1.5 Mbps DSL.)

The Speed Test keeps track of your test results over time, so you can view and compare them at any time. In addition, you can export your results to a number of file formats and even send your reports by e-mail.

Please note - Please note - This speed test uses web based software to approximate the connection speed on the TCP networking layer. Results may vary due to operating system configuration, browser configuration, cpu speed, network card configuration, background applications, etc. Before calling technical support, be sure to run all of the speed tweaks to get an accurate result. Continued issues regarding connection speed should be reported to support by dialing 1.866.SureWest (1.866.787.3937).

The script notices when your computer has downloaded the file and then calculates what DSL speed you have. If a firewall is switched on, the data are not sent back to the script and the test fails.
