1. Spanish -- Languages
   Meredith will ... expand its reach into Spain through a licensing agreement with Globus Comunicacion, a leading Spanish magazine publisher. Globus will publish a Spanish-language version of Diabetic Living, a magazine that offers upbeat health and lifestyle information, and a series of books based on the Better Homes and Gardens Big Book of Home How-To. Material published in Spanish will be available for Meredith to share with U.S.-based Hispanic readers.
2. Immersion -- Languages

3. French Language -- English
   French spelling generally reflects the language as it was spoken four or five centuries ago and is therefore a poor guide to modern pro-nunciation. Silent letters abound, especially at the ends of words (hommes is pronounced um; aiment pronounced em) but a normally silent final consonant is often sounded when it is followed by a word that begins with a vowel. In this process, known as liaison, the con-sonant becomes part of the first syllable of the following word, so that the sentence il est assis (he is seated) is pronounced e-le-ta-se. Although French pronunciation is governed by fairly consistent rules, the actual sounds of the language are quite difficult for the English speaker, and a good "French accent" is something not easily acquired.
4. Menudo -- Making Menudo
   The target audience of "Making Menudo" has witnessed fights on MTV's "The Real World." It has laughed at even the harshest criticism on "Idol." But viewers beware: Sharp-tongued vocal coach David Coury can make Simon Cowell look positively sweet. One classic Coury quote involves the maestro telling kids as young as 13 that they "sound like the Vienna Boys' Choir on crack."
5. Ricky Martin -- Album
   Ricky Martin goes global. After satisfying his fans with his Spanish material for years worldwide, he prepared his first English album. The album was self-titled and crafted by some of the music industry's most outstanding producers, such as Desmond Child, Dianne Warren, William Orbit and his long time childhood friend (producer/singer) Robi Draco Rosa. Also, the album had special guests, such as the queen of pop Madonna (on the Spanglish duet "Be Careful (Cuidado con mi Corazon)") and Meja (on the single of his album called "Private Emotion"). The first and most prominent single was the unforgettable "Livin' La Vida Loca," which became a colossal hit, climbing to #1 in many different countries and continents around the world, including the U.S., the U.K, Australia, France, Italy, Greece, Israel and Japan.
6. Franco De Vita
   Venezuelan singer and songwriter Franco De Vita was born in Caracas and later moved to Italy where he lived for ten years. At the age of 13, De Vita returned to South America, he decided to study music after finishing high school. Corpus was the name of his first band followed by Icaro, releasing an album in 1983. A year later, Franco De Vita decided to become a soloist debuting with a self-titled record which achieved gold and platinum status. Fantasía came out in 1986 with a hit called "Aqui Estas Otra Vez" climbing on the most important charts all over Latin America, that same year his song "Solo Importas Tú" was included on the soundtrack of La Dama de Rosa, a popular soap opera. The artist recorded along with Frankie Vali soon after, resulting with a song called "Sólo Palabras."
7. Enrique Iglesias -- Billboard Latin
   Within three years, Enrique became the biggest-selling Spanish-language artist in the world. In the U.S., his first three CD's hit ..1 on the Latin charts. "Si Tu Te Vas," "Por Amarte," "Experiencia Religiosa," "Trapecista," "No Llores Por Mi," "Enamorado Por Primera Vez," "Solo En Ti," "Miente" and "Nunca Te Olvidare" all hit ..1 Latin in the U.S. (..1 in 18 other countries). In all, Enrique has 16 ..1 Billboard Latin hits, more than any other artist in history.
8. Frankie J -- San Diego
   M[E]xican-born artist Frankie J has never been one to look back. At the age of two his uncle took him and his siblings trick-or-treating across the border into San Diego. Except they never went back.
9. Julieta Venegas -- San Diego
   Julieta Venegas is a woman who has spent her life daring to "cross over". As a teenager. she crossed over the border from her home town of Tijuana, Mexico to San Diego in order to further her musical education.
10. Explorer -- Dora
    An international success, Dora the Explorer is broadcast all over the world, teaching the majority of her viewers English rather than Spanish. Syndicated to TV broadcasters in 125 markets and translated in 24 languages, Dora the Explorer is the number one rated show in France, Canada, Italy and Mexico and is a top 10 rated show in nearly every major broadcast market in the world including the UK and China.
