South Park: Episodes
built 133 days ago
South Park'[S] early episodes tended to be shock value-oriented and featured more Pythonesque humor than later episodes. Although satire had been used on the show occasionally earlier on, it became more prevalent in later episodes. Episodes have parodied Michael Jackson ("The Jeffersons"), Paris Hilton ("Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset"), and The Passion of the Christ ("The Passion of the Jew"), as well as addressed serious political issues such as terrorism ("Cartoon Wars"), American immigration policy ("Goobacks"), Gay Marriage ("Follow that Egg"), and the Terri Schiavo case ("Best Friends Forever").
South Park includes very mature content that is inappropriate for kids and young teens. Parents should be aware that the show requires a certain level of sophistication to understand its essential message. They may want to pre-screen the show and watch episodes with their teens to provoke further discussion on the issues being addressed.
The band Korn appears in one of the Halloween episodes, where South Park is plagued by ghost pirates. It is the band's job to "solve the mystery" (this of course is a spoof of Scooby Doo). In the episodes climax, Korn plays "Falling Away from Me" in celebration of the solved mystery.
The South Park episode "Trapped In the Closet," which mocks actor Tom Cruise's rumored homosexuality as well as his belief in the controversial religion Scientology, has finally been seen by the English. The episode had been banned from UK broadcaster Channel 4 after Cruise had complained.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is an equal-opportunity offender who has managed to piss off both the FCC and the originators of South Park. So, when Chaunce Hayden interviewed him for September's Full Frontal TV Q&A section and asked, "What Family Guy got the most negative reaction?" he wasn't surprised when Seth retorted, "We did an episode where Peter Griffin got upset because he learned that his son was more endowed than him. That episode raised eyebrows with the FCC. In fact, they even investigated it! Yes, your tax dollars at work!" Check out more comedic quotes from this voice impresario in the new issue.
[A]t this year's E3, THQ Wireless will present two new mobile games based on the hit animated television series, South Park, in addition to new mobile games based on the WWE and the successful franchise Worms. For Star Wars fans that just can't get enough, the full suite of Star Wars-themed products for mobile phones will be on display including Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: Ask Yoda, and Star Wars: Battle Over Coruscant.
