Sonic Riders is a strange little number, kicking off the year's celebration of games for the blue blur. Sonic takes part in a tournament called the EX World Grand Prix, a race-off that involves the skilled use of hoverboards... known as Extreme Gear. With the prizes being Chaos Emeralds, Sonic and his buddies decide to take the challenge, but are soon confronted by the Babylon Rogues, a trio of expert racers hired by Dr. Eggman to win the Chaos Emeralds for him. A bit weird really, seeings as Eggman set the whole Grand Prix up. But oh well. Thus begins more rival-based shenanigans, this time in the form of Jet the Hawk, a green little critter-bird that's ever so slightly arrogant.
In Sonic Riders, Sonic and his friends are on a mission to foil the evil Dr. Eggman and his new henchmen the Babylon Rouges. Dr.Eggman has created the Ex World Grand Prix; a no-holds barred racing series where the fastest "riders" in the world pay one Chaos Emerald to participate in this tournament. Never one to turn down a challenge to prove his speed, Sonic and his friends join the tournament and uncover what Dr. Eggman's true intentions are. In Sonic Riders, players race on air boards through amazingly detailed and challenging courses. The tracks are innovatively designed; filled with gold rings and power-ups to collect; jump-ramps for high-flying acrobatic tricks; and long rails for grinding action. Riders will ... ride "Turbulence" ï¾– waves generated from other riders ï¾– to boost their own speed.

At first glance, Sonic Riders seems to have everything going against it. Mascot-based racers outside of the Mario Kart series are usually average-to-bad in quality, so immediately expectations are lowered. Also, the logo looks suspiciously like a certain Saturn Sonic racer’s, one that may help to draw negative parallels for all but the most hardened of SEGA veterans. However, upon deeper inspection, it’s clear that more effort was put into Sonic Riders than any other Sonic racer to date.

sonic riders pc Anyway, Sonic Riders for the PC has some great controls, they are very simple and flow well. If you are going to play this game, it would be better to use a control pad then a stick (it will come in handy for those very tight turns you are normally required to make). All the levels are exactly the same as the console versions (despite the more detail in the graphics area).
The fan-favorite Sonic Riders series returns with a whole new form of chaotic racing by manipulating gravity itself! These gravity-altering powers can transform walls into tracks, or create a "black hole" that sucks you through for the ultimate speed boost, and allows for an entirely new way to gain a leg up on your competitors. From illuminated highways in a bustling metropolis to the outer reaches of space, you will race at the speed of light on 16 dynamic courses. Vehicles with over 40 upgrades allow you to grind rails and pull off daring tricks on futuristic tracks, including solar loop-de-loops, height-defying vertical drops and tons of other edge-of-your-seat moves. As Sonic or one of 18 colorful characters, you will compete with up to three friends at heart-stopping speeds in three exciting multiplayer modes. With all the action, speed, and addictive gameplay that only Sonic can deliver, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is set for hyper-drive!
Like SSX on Pixie Stix, Sonic Riders is basically a tricked-out snowboarding game, but it's played over mixed terrain with "Extreme Gear," which is just a fancy way of describing the hoverboards from Back To The Future Part II. In story mode, the precious Chaos Emerald is swiped from Sonic and his buddies by the Babylon Rogues, a group of thieves with connections to the ancients. While Sonic and co. mope over their loss in Metal City Plaza, the diabolical Dr. Eggman announces an Extreme Gear event called the "Ex World Grand Prix," in which the first prize is a Chaos Emerald. Facing off against their nemeses from the Babylon Rogues, Sonic and friends alternate racing over various tracks in a no-holds-barred contest with jumping, drafting, shoving, and numerous shortcuts and bonus rings.
