1. Social Capital -- Forms
   Even in non-hi-tech environments, social capital often leads to greater efficiency than purely formal coordination techniques. Classical Taylorism, which organized workplaces in a highly centralized, bureaucratized manner, created many inefficiencies as decisions were delayed and information distorted while moving up and down hierarchical chains of command. In many manufacturing facilities, Taylorism has been replaced by much flatter management structures which in effect push responsibility down to the factory floor itself. Workers who are much closer to the sources of local knowledge are authorized to make decisions on their own, rather than referring them up a managerial hierarchy. This often leads to great gains in efficiency,11 but is totally dependent on the social capital of the workforce. If there is distrust between workers and managers, or widespread opportunism, then the delegation of authority required in a typical "lean" manufacturing system will lead to instant paralysis.
2. Social Darwinism -- Theories
   Social Darwinism is a doctrine arising in the 1870s according to which every community functions according to the same natural laws as described by Charles Darwin in his theory of evolution. The capable prevail against the less capable in human society in the course of history. Only the strongest survives in the struggle for life declares Darwin’s “Survival of the Fittest”. This idea is expanded in the conflict between nation states. That the most powerful nations will ultimately conquer in the struggle for life served as a biological legitimation for imperialism (colonialism).
3. Broken Social Scene -- Bands
   The Canadian band Broken Social Scene is composed of anywhere from 11 to 15 musicians, including members of Stars, Metric and vocalist Feist. Their new self-titled record is drawing a great deal of critical acclaim.
4. Social Anxiety Disorder -- People
   The World Psychiatric Association suggests that as few as 25 per cent of people who have Social Anxiety Disorder currently receive treatment. Treatment options need to be introduced as soon as a diagnosis is made to alleviate the impairment to the sufferer's life, and to prevent the further development of other related conditions such as depression, avoidant personality disorder, eating disorders and drug and alcohol abuse.
5. Social Anxiety Disorder -- Fears
   Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is a common, chronic psychiatric disorder characterized by a persistent fear of social or performance situations in which embarrassment can occur. This disorder typically appears during the mid-adolescent years and is unremitting throughout life if not properly treated. SAD presents as two subtypes: the more common and debilitating generalized form, and the nongeneralized form, which consists predominantly of performance anxiety. The majority of patients with SAD have comorbid mental disorders, including mood, anxiety, and substance abuse. No single development theory has been proposed to account for the origins of SAD, although current understanding of the etiology of SAD posits an interaction between psychological and biological factors. Risk factors include environmental and parenting influences and dysfunctional cognitive and conditioning events in early childhood.

7. Bloods -- Blue Bloods
   The Crips and Bloods are two drug gangs which originated in the Los Angeles area of California. The members of the Crips wear blue, and the members of the Bloods wear red. They both have expanded into other cities and states.
8. Mirra -- Dave Mirra Freestyle Bmx
   Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 is the only game to feature ten time World Champion and 11 time X Games medallist Dave Mirra, and 2000 X Games Champion Ryan Nyquist. As in the first game, other top BMX pros will be included to round out the action. In Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, players create their own rider and choose their own sponsors. Players then complete a variety of challenges to progress through the game and earn the respect of fellow riders. The ultimate goal is to unseat Dave Mirra as the top BMX rider.
9. The Offspring
   The Offspring is a popular punk / alternative rock band, formed in 1984 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland and bassist Greg Kriesel, inspired by a Social Distortion concert. In 1985 their school janitor, Noodles (Kevin Wasserman), joined on lead guitar with drummer James Lilja. Lilja later left before their first LP to become a gynecologist. Their second drummer, Ron Welty, played with The Offspring from their self titled debut album until the making of 'Splinter'. They hired Josh Freese to play the drums on that album, then brought in Atom Willard to go along on tour.
10. Joan Jett -- Albums
    Joan Jett was 15 when she formed the Runaways in 1975 with drummer Sandy West. The group was completed by Cherie Currie on vocals, Lita Ford (guitar), and Jackie Fox (bass). Within the year, the Runaways were signed to Mercury Records and working on their debut album.
