A Number of Exhibitors Protest SnowSport Show Date Changes <Tradeshow Week> CARLSBAD, CA - Exhibitors in the SIA SnowSport Show and members of the snowboarding industry are signing a petition to keep the 2004 event in January. After the show owner and operator, SnowSports Industry of America (SIA), announced it was changing the show dates from January back to March, a member of the association's snowboarding subcommittee launched the petition in protest of the date change. As of October 2, it has 95 signatures. With 370,700 square feet, the 2001 SIA SnowSports Show ranked 58th in the Tradeshow Week 200.

Canadian men's giant slalom gold medalist Ross Rebagliatti was temporarily stripped of his medal after testing positive for marijuana.

Canada Olympic Park, (February 2-3, 2008)-The Billabong Pro Junior snowboarding contest is back for its third year in Canada. This year's event will be at Canada Olympic Park, February 2-3, 2008. The event will determine who the best junior snowboarder is, with this event being a unique opportunity for young talents to develop their pro career and enter the elite of snowboarding. More>>

While the big guns competed in the Slopestyle Finals, snowboarding's future stars showcased their skills in the Junior Halfpipe event. Every year, the event attracts young riders from the world over to compete for the US Open Junior Halfpipe title. This year's Junior Halfpipe Champions are Stephanie Bedard and Sam Luebke.

Gamers can maneuver through more than 20 thrilling courses across nine events, including the Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding(R). In addition to the Trickmaster, CBX, Downhill Checkpoint, Big Air, Board Park, Downhill Gates and Half Pipe play modes, the all-new Challenge Mode allows players to take on pros and amateur riders at a specific event, and by winning these events, unlock additional pro boarders, increased attributes, new courses and special moves.

The many-prismed world of snowboarding featured World Cup tours run by the FIS and the International Snowboard Federation (ISF) plus the U.S. Open and a variety of non-Cup contests. As a result, some athletes rode both World Cup circuits, some rode just one, and others stayed in the U.S. and competed in non-World Cup events.
