On November 2, Snoop Dogg was charged with one felony count of knowingly possessing a deadly weapon -- a collapsible baton -- while trying to board a plane in Santa Ana, California, Orange County authorities said. A spokeswoman for the performer denied the charges and said the baton was "a prop" he inadvertently had included in his carry-on luggage.

The tracks on this compilation cover 1998 through 2002, a period filled with plenty of artistic, commercial, and personal ups and downs for {$Snoop Dogg}. It's simply a selection of highlights from {^Da Game Is to Be Sold Not to Be Told}, {^No Limit Top Dogg}, {^Tha Last Meal}, and {^Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$}. {@Priority} thankfully resisted the temptation to throw in a couple exclusives, so it cuts right to the chase, offering a pretty even spread between the four albums, rendering them all but obsolete for casual fans. The only missing chart entries from this phase: two tracks from {$tha Eastsidaz}'s self-titled album, along with a track each from the {^Dr. Dolittle 2} and {^Baby Boy} {\soundtracks}. Though {$Snoop} was responsible for plenty of filler on each of the albums, few MCs have pulled off such a range of work with such a high level of finesse, from the {$Premier}-produced {&"The One and Only"} (raw, in your face) to the {$Neptunes}-produced {&"Beautiful"} (smooth, laid-back).

Tha Adventures of tha Blue Carpet Treatment is a supplemental DVD project being released on Snoopadelic Films with ten animated videos from Tha Blue Carpet Treatment album, all connected in movie, story line fashion. Even still, Snoop has developed a Spike TV show entitled California Youth Authority (CYA). Directed by Emmy Award winner Jonathan Stack and shot documentary style, CYA covers different social issues young kids face on the daily growing up and surviving in the hood.

A concert at London's Wembley Arena on March 27 went ahead with Diddy (with whom he toured Europe) and the rest of the show. Snoop’s first No Limit album, "Da Game Is To Be Sold Not To Be Told" proved that Snoop’s usual, infectious slow drawl was a poor mesh for the thunderous, production sound of the New Orleans based No Limit. In 1999, Snoop’s second No Limit album, "Top Dogg" re-teamed him with Dr. Dre, and scored an underground anthem with the song "B Please" featuring Xzibit that helped Xzibit achieve further notoriety. "Dead Man Walkin’" appeared the year after. Snoop’s "Tha Last Meal", released in 2000, was his final record under Master P’s tutelage.
