Smashing Pumpkins The Smashing Pumpkins have created one of the most acclaimed bodies of work in music history. Formed in Chicago in 1988, they released Gish, their influential (and platinum) debut in 1991, which was followed by more platinum and multi-platinum albums including the nine-times platinum Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness and the four-times platinum Siamese Dream. more

The Smashing Pumpkins Albums In their first spell spanning from the late 80's The Smashing Pumpkins produced 6 studio albums, 4 of which went platinum in the US. Their debut album Gish was released in 1991, followed by Siamese Dream (1993). Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness (1995) and Adore (1998) preceeded their final official release album MACHINA/The Machines of God (2000). The Smashing Pumpkins were then one of the first artists to harness the internet to release their music and published their sixth album, MACHINA II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music (2000), as on online-only tribute to their fans, just weeks before their official disbandment.
The Smashing Pumpkins play Melbourne (Australia) Saturday 20 June 1998. They've been busy touring Europe to promote their new studio recording, Adore. The new album carries the typical fuzzed-out Pumpkins sound. To help promote their new album, the Pumpkins have recruited drummer Kenny Aronoff (formerly of John Mellencamp among others), percussionists Dan Morri and Stephen Hodges (Tom Waits) and keyboardist Mike Garson (David Bowie). This is the Smashing Pumpkins' biggest on-stage ensemble ever!
