After the First World War, Slovenia or better said Slovene lands (not all) became part of the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs (Drzava SHS), later Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes/Yugoslavia (Kraljevina SHS/Jugoslavija). For the first time the Slovene territory was partly united under one name, one authority and one coat of arms. But a lot of Slovenes were not pleased with the coat of arms that was created by Belgrade politicians: A blue shield with a white five-pointed star above a white crescent. This coat of arms was in use from 1919 to 1929. Then the white five-pointed star was replaced with three yellow six-pointed stars, which are originally from the coat of arms of the town of Celje. The position of stars was 2 and 1 or 1 and 2.

Most of Slovenia is situated in the Karst plateau and in the Julian Alps. The largely mountainous and forested republic is drained by the Drava and Sava rivers. Ljubljana, Maribor, and Celje are the chief cities. The Slovenes constitute more than 80% of the population, but there are ... Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks. Almost 60% are Roman Catholic, and there are Muslim and Eastern Orthodox minorites. Farming and livestock raising are important occupations, with potatoes, hops, wheat, sugar beets, corn, and wine grapes the main crops.

The three major factors in democratization within Slovenia are social differences, economic differences, and political differences between Slovenes and Yugoslavs. After World War II, Yugoslavia was under a communist regime. The Slovenes’ economy and culture evolved and it was soon evident that its association with Yugoslavia was hindering its growth.

To date, 117 ant species have been found in Slovenia. One third are distributed throughout the country and considered common (e.g. Myrmica rubra, M. sabuleti, Temnothorax crassispinus, Tetramorium caespitum, Tapinoma erraticum, Camponotus ligniperda, Formica cunicularia, F. rufibarbis, F. sanguinea, Lasius flavus, L. emarginatus, L. niger). The Submediterranean region, where 89 species were found, shows the highest diversity of ant fauna. Twenty-two of all recorded species are known only from this region (e.g. Aphaenogaster epirotes, A. muelleriana, Crematogaster spp., Messor spp., Pheidole pallidula, Temnothorax exilis, T. flavicornis, Camponotus dalmaticus).

Slovenia(aka 'the appendix of Italy') is a former part of socialist Yugoslavia which is now more commonly known as Serbia who got their asses bombed by Team America. Slovenians decided that they don't wish to be part of the bombings, so in 1991 Slovenia became one of the smallest independent countries in the world for everyone else to point a finger at and laugh. The irony here is that no one knows exactly [W]here to point the finger at. At one time Slovenia called Team America stupid, so Team America, believing that Slovenians are hiding Weapons of Mass Stupidity (WMS) such as Matjaž Hanžek and Janez Drnovšek, decided to nuke Slovenia, but then they got terribly confused because all they could find on the world map was Slovakia... Team America was forced to abandon their previous plans and invade Iraq instead.
