The prime motivator of Slackers is Ethan, a repellent nerd psycopath (Rushmore’s Jason Schwartzman) obsessed with Angela (James King), the sweetest, prettiest girl on campus. He blackmails Dave (Devon Sawa), a hedonistic cheat, and his two buddies, to deliver her to him; teen comedy logic dictates that Dave falls for Angela and jeopardizes the imminent graduation of himself and his pals. There is a moment of wrenching maturation for Dave, a final scam on Ethan, and a tentative lunge toward adulthood.
The Slackers finally took the stage. Q Maxx announced that after 10 years of playing at The Wetlands, it was their last time to perform there. So right off the bat, everyone knew that this show would be something to remember. Sitting in with the Slackers were 2 special guests: Agent Jay, and Simon (from the Bar Sinisters). The 2 extra guitars gave the sound some more flavor.

Slackers Slackers is, without question, the strangest dumb-college-comedy ever made — it's like Road Trip rewritten by David Lynch. Littered with all the insipid bodily-function buffoonery you'd expect from the genre, the film is ... dotted with bizarre left-brain humor that's more Monty Python than Tom Green. MORE»

After the season summer kicked in and about a month before the regular season Martin joined Slackers. Åke Vader had left due to inactivity and there had been little to no pracs. At this stage a new idea came up, creating two even division one teams. The initial idea was to have ParadokS, Murdoc, Insane and Krab in one team and Martin, Pascal, Dragon and Zero in the other. After a few weeks and not too many pracs from both teams Martin and Pascal decided to revive Fragomatic.
The Slackers The Slackers mix ska, rocksteady, reggae, soul, swing, garage rock and jazz into their own raw sound. Their eighth album 'Peculiar' was released in 2006. On this record they show their discord with the current American politics.

Heather Tyner's clear, concise narrative provides an interesting look at AP slackers, students who have little to nothing to do after their big tests in May are over. This is a tightly-packed radio segment and disperses quite a bit of information within that time. However, one of the major downsides of the short length of this piece is the rushed interviews. Tyner's report could have been made stronger through a short clip from another student with a differing viewpoint, to parallel the different teachers' methods. Overall, this was a clean-cut piece on a unique topic. Great work!
