Singapore Airlines will receive the first four A380s to roll off the assembly line, with expected delivery date in the fall of this year. The initial route will be London-Singapore-Sydney. Qantas will bring the behemoth to American shores on flights to Australia in 2008. Lufthansa will bring the ‘bus to New York thereafter, if all goes according to plan.
The history of Singapore Airlines dates back to 1947, when a Malayan Airways LimitedĀ Airspeed Consul took off from Singapore's Kallang Airport to Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Penang. The airline began with three flights per week, and today the network spansĀ 100 destinations in 41 countries. Singapore airline operates two of the world's longest non-stop commercial flights to Los Angeles and Newark respectively.

Singapore Airlines Cargo Boeing 747, dubbed the MegaArk, (9V-SFJ) on  approach to London Heathrow Airport Singapore Airlines Cargo operates dedicated cargo flights to 36 destinations in 18 countries, of which 25 are served by both Singapore Airlines passenger aircraft and SIA Cargo aircraft. The airline ... has scheduled cargo flights to 12 destinations, which do not receive service from Singapore Airlines passenger aircraft, namely: Nairobi, Tianjin, Xiamen, Macau, Glasgow, Kuwait City, Sharjah, Brussels, Anchorage, Chicago and Dallas. Sharjah and Brussels serve as hubs for the Middle Eastern and European regions respectively.
Corrina Chan, a spokeswoman for Singapore Airlines, said the in-flight e-mail service is currently offered on one Boeing 747-400 aircraft on the Singapore/Los Angeles run. She said the second aircraft to offer the service will be a Boeing 777ER (Extended Range) starting in July, with the full wide-body 747/777 fleet equipped within 12 to 14 months.

Two new exotic destinations are being added to the travel menu at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), as Singapore Airlines announces new passenger service to Moscow, Russia and Singapore. Starting on March 20, 2008, the airline will offer four weekly nonstop flights to Moscow from IAH with continuing service to Singapore, adding two new destinations to the more than 70 international destinations already served fromHouston.

In 2004, Singapore Airlines began non-stop long flights from Singapore to Los Angeles International Airport in California and Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey. This marked the first ever non-stop air service between Singapore and the United States of America.
