comic featuring Superman and Sinbad (Davood Nassur) Davood Nassur ("Sinbad") was a Muslim. His family was originally from the Middle Eastern Muslim nation of Qurac. When Sinbad encountered Superman he was a Quraci teenager living in the "Little Qurac" section of Metropolis. In the DC Universe, Qurac is known as a terrorist-supporting nation. Lex Luthor attempted to frame Sinbad and make people believe that the youth was yet another Quraci Islamic terrorist. Sinbad was not actually a terrorist....

The heroic Sinbad has been through much since returning home four years ago. Although he still doesn't know about what took place to him in his years away from the known world, he knows his future is unwritten, and waiting to be filled. Being captain hasn't been easy as Sinbad has suffered much, and had to make plenty of tough choices. He has dedicated his beard to his brother, wanting to look like the man that he most admires. His sword is still ready, but he has relearned to use his heart and head before using it. His last couple years of encounters have been filled with danger, torment, adventure, and plenty more. He has made new friends in fellow heroes such as Aladdin, Conor and Nessa, and the Phoenix Warrior Maria.
Sinbad has received extra exposure in the ad campaign for Reebok Blacktop basketball shoes. The Sinbad-Reebok campaign was the recipient of the prestigious 1992 Grand Elite Award. Blacktops were ... voted New Product of the Year by Footwear News. Sinbad was the celebrity spokesperson for Polaroid's new Captiva Camera also.
Sinbad: Not dead yet, despite  Wikipedia posts to the contrary. MIAMI — Actor-comedian Sinbad had the last laugh after his Wikipedia entry announced he was dead, the performer said Thursday. Rumors began circulating Saturday regarding the posting, said Sinbad, who first got a telephone call from his daughter. The gossip quieted, but a few days later the 50-year-old entertainer said the phone calls, text messages and e-mails started pouring in by the hundreds.

Sinbad A minister's son, Sinbad originally intended to be a basketball player until a college knee injury halted his athletic career. A stint in the US Air Force followed before the aspiring comic pursued show business. After his initial success on the small screen, he made his film debut as a stand-up comedian in "That's Adequate" (1989). His first acting role of note was as one of the football players in "Necessary Roughness" (1991). Small roles in "Coneheads" and "Meteor Man" (both 1993) followed before Sinbad landed his first starring role in "Houseguest" (1995). Demonstrating a genial, engaging quality as a dreamer whose schemes generally backfire, he successfully played off co-star Phil Hartman.
