The great result for "Straight Lines" eclipsed every other Silverchair track. Previous highlights included "Tomorrow" (#5 in 1994), "Freak" (#13 in 1997), "Ana's Song" (#15 in 1999) and "The Greatest View" (#10 in 2002).

COMMENTS: As it turns out, this new Silverchair is kind of a disappointment. For the first half of it, it sounds like they're going for some of those big ballads like they did on Diorama, but, for the most part the hooks just aren't there. The second half, where it sounds like they're trying on a lot of new sounds, is more of a mixed bag. It's obvious they've got the chops to try any number of things, which is not to say that they definitely should.

This remarkable tour capped a roller coaster year for Silverchair - a year which in many ways traced the journey of "Diorama" itself - from bleak times into a much happier new dawn. The event was captured in a multiplatinum CD/DVD set called "Live From Faraway Stables" that was released in late 2003.

Following the Boxing Day Tsunami, Silverchair reformed for one show at the Wave Aid fundraising concert in Sydney, to raise funds for aid organizations working in disaster affected areas. They were inspired by the performance of Midnight Oil, to continue going as Silverchair.
