The ShopKo portfolio comprises 178 properties, mostly in the West and Midwest: 112 ShopKo properties typically in small cities and 66 Pamida stores in rural communities. ShopKo stores are big-box facilities in strip malls or stand-alone locations, averaging about 90,000 square feet. Pamida stores average about 33,000 square feet.

Earlier this year Shopko broke ground on the first new Shopko store to be built in six years. That new prototype store will be located in the Northeast Wisconsin community of Suamico and will open in the spring of 2008.
