More than 700 Coldwater Creek employees, dressed in pink T-shirts adorned with the signature Komen Foundation pink ribbon logo, celebrated their first- ever Passionately Pink Day during the company's national managers' meeting in Sandpoint. The $100,000 donation comes on the heels of the company's own National Series Sponsorship of the Komen Race for the Cure events held across the country. In addition, Coldwater Creek presented each of their local Komen affiliates in Spokane, WA, and Coeur d'Alene, ID, with $10,000 checks on Wednesday.

In February of 2007, edun LIVE produced the first t-shirts made entirely in Uganda for export in the history of the country. This event was commemorated by a ceremony at the factory in Kampala, which was attended by President Yoweri Museveni, the US Ambassador, as well as the factory workers themselves. In addition, the t-shirts were 100% Ecocert certified garments (not just cotton), and the first t-shirts exported under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

The sheriff of Lake County, Florida, explains that "all workbooks, materials and the very popular T-shirts must be purchased by the Sheriff's Office from D.A.R.E. America Inc. Often, the material and T-shirts could be purchased locally at less expense." He was surprised and disappointed to learn that the not-for-profit DARE corporation now ... promotes the sale of its merchandise by for-profit businesses. These private companies can make 80% profit. Of the 20% returned to DARE America, Inc., by the companies, none is returned to the local areas from which the profits are derived to support the program.[49]

The campaign went national on NBC's The Today Show, and the company pulled the shirts from stores on November 5, 2005.[54]
