Sheryl Suzanne Crow was born in Kennett, Missouri on February 11, 1962, to parents Wendell, a trumpet player and lawyer, and Bernice Crow, a piano teacher. The third child of the family, Sheryl has three siblings: older sisters Kathy and Karen, and younger brother Steve. Additionally she is the older sister both familialy and musically to three identical triplet brothers.
Born on February 11, 1962, in Kennet, Missouri, Crow began her career singing backup and touring with Don Henley, Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen. Her 1993 debut, Tuesday Night Music Club, sold millions of copies propelled by the smash MTV and radio hit “All I Wanna Do.” Crow’s self-titled 1996 follow-up spawned the chart-toppers “Everyday Is a Winding Road” and “If It Makes You Happy.” The Globe Sessions (1998) earned her the Best Rock Album Grammy. She released Live in Central Park in 1999 and C’mon C’mon in 2002.

After graduating college, Crow worked as an elementary school music teacher at Garlin Kellison in Fenton, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Teaching during the day allowed her the opportunity to sing in bands on the weekends.
