built 237 days ago
Through the medium of film, television and fashion industry, Shannon Elizabeth has proved to be one of the most sought after talents of entertainment and fashion industry. Born on September 7, 1973 in Houston, Texas, USA, the poker and former model came to full glory through her work in the 1999 comedy film American Pie.

Shannon Elizabeth played a voluptuous Czechoslovakian exchange student in the teen comedy American Pie (1999, with Tara Reid). The movie put Elizabeth on the map, and she raised her profile even more with appearances in Playboy and Maxim magazines. Her other films include Scary Movie (2000) and Tom Cats (2001). In the summer of 2001 she starred in American Pie II, the sequel to her first hit, and the offbeat comedy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (with Matt Damon and Eliza Dushku).

Before she got close to relatively decent billing in movies, Shannon Elizabeth was going for the scream quotient. One of her earliest movies was "Blast" about a group of terrorists who took the U.S. Olympic swim team hostage. From there, she went on to mock big-time scream material in the aptly named "Scary Movie," a comedy that poked fun at the teen horror movie genre. Along the way, she became known for her turn as a sexy babe cavorting in skimpy clothes in "American Pie" and its sequel, the creatively titled, "American Pie 2." But eventually--maybe because she felt bad for mocking the scary movie genre--Elizabeth decided to go ahead and give horror movies a try. She starred opposite Portia de Rossi and Christina Ricci in this year's scary thriller "Cursed," Wes Craven's horrifying flick about a werewolf on the loose in Los Angeles.

Shannon Elizabeth's estranged husband may not be moving on up, but he's finally got a piece of the "Pie." Potentially, a very large piece. The "American Pie" eye candy has reached a tentative settlement with her onetime better half Joseph Reitman in a civil suit he filed last March as part of the couple's divorce proceedings. In the suit, the sometime actor and musician requested half of

Looking at Shannon Elizabeth, the leggy brunette that has played the bombshell exchange student Nadia in both slices of "American Pie," you'd think she would be a clotheshorse, the kind of woman who spends loads of time shopping at exclusive boutiques. Plus, the Texas native started her career as a high-fashion model, her slightly exotic looks (her ancestry is a winning mix of Syrian and American Indian blood) making her a natural for runway work and magazine spreads.

As part of the amazingly successful "American Pie" (1999), "Shannon Elizabeth" went almost overnight from complete obscurity to being a lust object for mammary-obsessed teenage boys everywhere. Before her turn as Nadia, the Czech foreign-exchange student who steals the heart and hormones of the film's perpetually horny protagonist, Jim ("Jason Biggs"), "Elizabeth" did time in a number of forgettable films and TV movies. Born of Syrian, Lebanese, and Cherokee heritage in Houston, TX, on September 7, 1973, the actress made her film debut in 1998's "Dish Dogs". Minor parts in two TV programs, "My Generation" (1998) and Dying to Live (1999), followed before her role in "American Pie". After the success of the blockbuster teen comedy, "Elizabeth" was signed to a three-picture deal with Miramax, ensuring that her career was off to an auspicious start.
