Shadows Fall

The characters in Shadows Fall are as memorable as the premise is grim. Few things in life are as disturbing or as cruel as that simple old standby in the movies, a frame. Innocent people are convicted of crimes often and tragically in reality. Mystery novels dwell in a region of justice where that terrible wrong can be righted with wits and courage. Few authors show the devastating effects that an accusation, let alone imprisonment, can have on the family and the people around the victim. That's what sets this gut-wrenching thriller above the pack.
Shadows Fall Tickets The sounds of Shadows Fall reveal both American and European effects. However, the band's utilization of "shredding", or rapid guitar solos, draws its inspiration from traditional American thrash metal legacy of outfits such as Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer. Identically ... its complicated single-note riffs and dual-guitar synchronization have their origins in the European metal sounds generally linked to the Gothenburg scene and groups for instance In Flames, dark Tranquility and At the Gates,. Also they utilize some American death metal for instance New York Death Metal (outfits for instance Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse) sounds and Florida Death Metal (outfits for instance Death, Morbid Angel, , and Obituary) sounds.

Shadows Fall performing in 2007. From left to right: Matt Bachand, Paul Romanko, Jason Bittner, Brian Fair, and Jonathan Donais. Since its formation, Shadows Fall has released five studio albums, two compilation albums, and one DVD. The band's first album featured Philip Labonte on vocals, although he was soon replaced by Fair. Shadows Fall's first two studio albums featured David Germain playing drums, but in 2002 Bittner joined the band full time. The band is currently a Grammy Award nominee in the category Best Metal Performance for the song "Redemption" off the album Threads of Life.
The opening track, “Redemption”, on the latest effort from Shadows Fall yields promises of something in the waiting, yet throughout Threads of Life seems afraid to think outside the box, the entity encapsulating their songs within. Instead you’re left with contemporary metal executed at a steady pace and a production that’s too polished, which take the edge of the more aggressive parts. So albeit being renowned as such, Shadows Fall certainly doesn’t show themselves as leaders on the scene with this release.

Shadows Fall drummer Jason Bittner will be making a number of in-store appearances at music stores across the country. The current itinerary calls for visits to Kansas City's Explorers Percussion on Monday, April 30th and Drum Headquarters on Tuesday, May 1st.
This is Shadows Fall at their very best, proving, once again, that they are the undeniable leaders of the current hard rock/metal scene. Includes new mixes of songs from 'Of One Blood' and two tracks seeing their US release debut.
