This past Monday the finale of the beta testing was marked by a set of challenge matches between developers of Shadowrun and the beta testers fortunate enough to get a shot to play against them. Prizes were awarded to winning beta testers and all had a chance to chat with the developers online and get their questions answered. Well, most of them. It was a wonderful end to a great gaming experience.
In 2005, WizKids began publishing new Shadowrun novels, again through the Roc imprint of the New American Library. Six novels were released in the new series, with no current plans for more.
[E]ven though this game severely bends the rules of traditional Shadowrun, to the point where they break completely, it is a very good game. Both in regards to story and atmosphere, it's a good game, especially considering some of the other RPG's out on the market for the SNES at that time.
In September 2007 Microsoft closed FASA Studios (and the FPS official forum), and licensed the Shadowrun electronic entertainment rights to Smith & Tinker, a company owned by Jordan Weisman, an original creator of Shadowrun. Details at Smith & Tinker's website hint at the development of a MMO.[6]
