Shadow

The Shadow Academy was torus-shaped and featured massive observation and docking towers on one side. In the event that the Shadow Academy needed to defend itself, or function as a battle platform, its perimeter was ringed with gun emplacements that pointed out in all directions. Those guns were seen as a last resort and used only rarely because the Shadow Academy was equipped with a cloaking device that allowed it to remain hidden. The torus was ... ringed with engines, allowing it to maneuver and accelerate to hyperspace if it needed to serve as a transport or escape if it had been discovered.

Unlike almost all other land based vehicles in Halo 2, the Shadow is not a pilotable (Apart from the Turret) vehicle for the player. The Shadow only appears in the level Outskirts, where John-117 must destroy a convoy of them. The Shadows in Halo 2 are always seen transporting Ghosts, never infantry, but the seat bearing Shadows can be unlocked via a modded Xbox. It was discovered to be a drivable vehicle in the Halo 3 beta code, although no Shadows are even seen in the final version of Halo 3.

Shadow ... has an association with Amy Rose. Near the end of Sonic Adventure 2, Amy encounters him in one of the A.R.K.'s rooms and begs him to help the others save the planet. At first Shadow refuses, insisting that nothing can be done. She continues to plead, and her pleadings trigger a suppressed memory of the last moments of Maria's life, wherein Maria begs Shadow to make the people of Earth happy, causing him to change his mind. Shadow can also choose to assist her in searching for Cream the Rabbit and her pet Chao, Cheese during the Cryptic Castle level of Shadow the Hedgehog.

Through modding (or just paying attention through simple run throughs) the Shadow ... has a boost much like the Ghost and Spectre. And often has a hard time stopping after deployed for a few seconds. Akin to the Ghost, it also can pop "wheelies" through the A button.

One of Shadow's main rivals and adversaries is none other than Sonic the Hedgehog. When the two first meet in Sonic Adventure 2, they immediately become enemies, but over time their relationship develops into a strong rivalry. They frequently fight for different reasons, and Shadow finds Sonic to be very irritating. Under extreme circumstances, the two hedgehogs will work together for a common goal, but only if it absolutely requires teamwork. One example of this, is when Shadow and Sonic combat the Finalhazard at the end of Sonic Adventure 2.
