Sevendust released their sixth full-length studio album, entitled Alpha, on March 6, 2007. The album debuted at #14 in the US, the band's highest chart position yet, selling over 42,000 copies of the album in it's first week. The band ... headlined a 57-date tour from February 8, 2007 to April 28, 2007.Boston heavy metal band Diecast, supergroup Invitro, and Christian rock band Red accompanied Sevendust on that tour.[7] Retrospective 2, a CD/DVD combo including three previously un-released studio tracks, live concert footage never before seen, as well as the new music videos for the songs "Beg To Differ", "Ugly", "Pieces", and "Driven", will be released on December 11, 2007. [8] Their songs "Feed" and "Driven" were used in the soundtrack to WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008.
Sevendust singer Lejon Witherspoon knows some fans may complain that his band failed to stay true to their heavy metal ethics by showing a more melodic dimension and — gasp — even including a ballad on their new CD, Seasons. Without wanting to express any bitterness for those who might hold that opinion, Witherspoon had a message to those who decry this shift in Sevendust’s music.

Ticket Update Aside from contributing "Pieces" to the Saw II soundtrack, Sevendust has seen huge success in its short life. The nu-metal stars gained millions of fans after appearing at Ozzfest, and their self-titled debut went gold. They've toured with Metallica and Korn, to name a few, and now they're headlining in support of their latest release, Alpha. Get your thrash on and see this band.

Sevendust's upcoming album, Alpha, which drops March 6, is its sixth studio album and features the first new material from the band since 2005's Next. On their web site, the band is describing the album as a return to the raw, angry sound of their early releases.

Once again Sevendust not only performed their famous hits, they ... focused in on some newer material from Next which is not only a smokin' CD, its perhaps the finest works from this band to date. Opening the sizzling set with two Tracks off of Next with " Hero " and " Ugly " to superior tracks of " Black " , " Trust ", and " Praise".
In December of 2004, Sevendust began to experience the druthers of so many other bands, when guitarist Clint Lowery left the band to pursue other projects. But the slot was soon filled by Sonny Mayo, formerly of bands such as Snot and (hed) PE, and with the addition of Mayo seemed a new-found energy and attitude of hardcore that seemed to seep from the band over the seven years of the same line-up.
