The primary port used by the imeem client and servers is 1729, this has special significance as the Hardy-Ramanujan number and a Carmichael number. The client ... uses 2465 as a preferred port for UDP traffic, this is also a Carmichael number.

This redirects the request to one of the several servers in a server group. Once the BIND feature of DNS resolves the domain to one of the servers, subsequent requests from the same client are sent to the same server.

The downtime resets the servers there, which means an angry mob of clients would be at the door waiting to restart / reconfigure their machines & services like yesterday. When they say 100% uptime, it’s pretty much fact.
