built 65 days ago
S-NETS-Septuagint.jpg A new translation of the Septuagint published by Oxford University. A New English Translation of the Septuagint (or NETS, as it is commonly designated), is a scholarly translation made by a group of scholars. It renders the Septuagint into 21st century English.
This manuscript shows parts of the Septuagint of Habakkuk 2-3. It dates back to the first century B.C. or first century A.D. and was discovered in the Nahal Hever region of the Judaean Desert. Consequently it's often called the Nahal Hever Minor Prophets Scroll.

Since 1991 the band has worked hard on their repertoire, experience and performance, and grew into what Septuagint is today. Along their road, which is steadily rising (of course there were a few parts downhill, but which road hasn't?), they placed milestones (see below) to mark the way behind as theirs. And today another one was set, here at the side of the still very long path, visible by the light of the moon and lightning. Now Septuagint is already looking ahead. There, in the nearby distance stands another stone, which marks the release of their 2nd full-length CD, which will see the light in 2004. and a Darkening Mind' are 2 examples of what lies in the future, breeding, growing angrier and eagerly waiting to burst out and rage throughout the world.

"Both Jobes and Silva have experience as students, instructors, and researchers in the Septuagint. They have seamlessly combined their individual insights and interests to produce a pedagogically sound volume that is accessible to those with little prior knowledge of the Septuagint. . . . In the 2,300 or so years of its existence, the Septuagint has never before been the subject of such an attractive introduction. It is sincerely hoped that at least a few young scholars, accepting this invitation, will due course join the ranks of Septuagint specialists."--Leonard J. Greenspoon, Religious Studies Review
The first is an ancient fragment of the Septuagint dated between 50 BCE and 50 CE (AD). If this dating is correct, it would have been written near the time of Yahushua's ministry. The name of these fragments are "Nahal Hever Minor Prophets" because they are fragments of Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah and Zechariah found in the Nahal Hever cave, south of Qumran. The Tetragrammaton is indicated with the large black arrow.

[A]n inflamed catapult-slung boulder is fired by Septuagint. It is called 'Meditation among Demons' and is aimed at the metalworld. Recorded and released in 2003, and now it is spreading the lands, conquering hearts and minds of both fans and those unsuspecting victims who suddenly feel the onslaught of the two-track single unleashed upon them.
