September 11 Quilts is no longer accepting additional quilts. The project is completed. The website will remain in place for the time being as a tribute to the many quilters, volunteers, and financial supporters who contributed greatly over a span of more than two years.
The September 11th Memorial Service will be held at the Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Orange County: Route 416, Montgomery, NY 12549. More than 20 Canadian writers and musicians have been specially commissioned to produce an original work for this broadcast that reflects an emotional aspect of September 11th. The artists include poets George Elliott Clarke, Patrick Friesen, George Murray and Molly Peacock; novelists Anita Rau Badami and Kerri Sakamoto; dramatists Florence Gibson, Dave Carley and Marcus Youssef; musicians Adam Goddard, Hawksley Workman, the Ennis Sisters and Fred Eaglesmith; and sound art composers Gavin Bryars, Hildegard Westerkamp and Darren Copeland. Their works will be interwoven throughout the special.

A 9/11 Commemoration Blood Drive will be held on September 11, 2007 from 12pm – 4pm at the Medstar Health Ateaze Senior Center/ Baltimore County Department of Aging.
