Senses Fail: Searching
built 648 days ago
Senses Fail entered the studio in 2002 with producer John Naclerio, recording two three-song demos. The material turned into an EP called, From The Depths of Dreams. The response to the disc was so strong that just a couple weeks after its release, the band was being courted by larger labels. The collection sold well, and the band supported it with numerous well-recieved tours, including Finch, Millencolin, and The Starting Line. From The Depths of Dreams would later be re-issued with two bonus tracks.
Senses Fail has honed their post-hardcore aggro melodicism to a razor’s edge (three Warped tours in a row will do that), but they’ve ... begun to wear their Metallica damage on their collective sleeve. “Sick or Sane,” for instance, is indeed sick, complete with double-kick-drum fire power and face-melting solo. It’s a three-minute fusillade of machine-gun guitar punctuated by Nielsen’s otherworldly growl. Exhibiting his knack for black humor, he sings, “And the white coats just won’t get it/ I’m a genius with a headache.”

The history of Senses Fail starts with Garrett Zablocki, in 2002 recruiting members through an advertisement on the Internet a year before the formation of the band. The current singer, Buddy Nielsen, read the article and Garrett brought his friend Dave Miller from a band he had played with previously. Later, the bass player Mike Glita, former drummer for Tokyo Rose (band) joined the lineup.[1]
The band Senses Fail wants fans to make a video for The Priest and The Matador. NetStudio is hosting the contest and will be producing the winning video’s concept. First prize winner gets a 30GB video iPod and $250 in cash with other prizes to be awarded for additional concepts and user-generated reviews of the videos. The Priest and The Matador will be the third single off the band’s latest Vagrant Records release, Still Searching.

Fourtunately, Senses Fail's brains are matched by their brawn. Let It Enfold You is a powerful, inviting and triumphant manifesto of youthful energy and turmoil. From the tumbling rhythms and piercing guitar fill of the storming "Tie Her Down" to the tuneful vocal harmonies and blood-chilling screams of "You're Cute When You Scream" to the surging, stop-start rhythms and pointed vocals of "Bite To Break Skin" the band delivers with the consistency and power of veterans, not an outfit that has only been around since 2002.
