The reigning champ of Champ Cars, Sebastien Bourdais is an irrefutably talented driver. He's got three Champ Car titles under his belt, along with the Formula 3000 championship from 2002 and the French Formula 3 title from 1999. Bourdais is a winner, plain and simple. But despite its stature as the pinnacle of motorsports, supposedly flaunting the best drivers in racing, Formula One has been missing out on Bourdais.

Sebastien Bourdais was the first driver in the 25-year history of CART to lead the first laps of his very-first Champ Car race. Nigel Mansell won the pole in his first race in 1993, but lost the lead to Emerson Fittipaldi on the first lap of that race in Surfers Paradise.

In 2006, Sebastien Bourdais became the first driver to earn three consecutive open wheel titles since Ted Horn. Throughout his career, Sebastien has earned a total of 25 poles & 23 wins in 59 events. This year Sebastien will compete in the event "24 Hours of Le Mans" for the sixth time. In 2007, he will ... attempt to become the first driver to earn 4 titles in a row.

Sebastien Bourdais turned the fastest lap in qualifying for the Champ Car Grand Prix of Houston on Saturday, then lost his pole position when he was penalized for blocking series points leader Will Power. Power will start on the pole Sunday after clocking the second-fastest lap on Saturday. Bourdais, the defending champion, will start on the outside of the front row, but only because he won the provisional pole Friday.

After the standing start went smoothly, Sebastien Bourdais settled in and enjoyed the ride. Bourdais passed polesitter Justin Wilson to start the 56th lap Sunday and cruised to his third straight victory, and the Grand Prix of Portland successfully introduced Champ Car's first standing start.

Points leader Sebastien Bourdais (#2 McDonalds Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone) continues to dominate this season despite earning his second DNF during Round 10 in Montreal. Grabbing his sixth pole of the season that marked his eighth front row start in ten races, he led a total of 26 laps before his day came to an early end due to contact. 2004 Rookie-of-the-Year has finished on the podium in seven of ten races, in which five of them he claimed the victory.
