built 279 days ago
The youngest comedian ever to win the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award, Sean Hughes will bring his new stand-up show to the Elmwood Hall on Friday 26th October. Now aged 41, but "spiritually 11", Sean has enjoyed almost two decades at the top of the comedy tree and this show marks a long overdue return to the comedy circuit by one of the best stand-ups of his generation.
Award-winning stand up Sean Hughes, is back to his very best form - with his distinctly dark, explosive style and his quick-fire banter with the audience. 'Intelligent stand-up' Guardian; 'High-calibre comedy as it should be' ****Evening Standard.

Sean Hughes may be best known to the British public as (until recently) a sardonic team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks on BBC2. However Sean started his career as a stand-up by becoming the youngest winner of the Perrier Award. Several sell-out tours were followed by two series of Sean's Show (C4) – Britain's first post-modern sitcom.

The stand-up in Sean Hughes is ready to let loose again. After five years dominating UK television, the star of 'Sean's Show' is in top form for his comeback to the stand-up circuit. Don't miss this cult comedy hero doing what puts the fire in his belly.
Stand-up comedian Sean Hughes wrote and starred as a fictionalised version of himself, aware of the fact he was living in a sitcom. The show poked fun at the 'standard sitcom' with a series of running gags, such as constantly killing off characters and have them return as their 'identical twin'!
