- Caspian Sea Monster
The Ekranoplan, nicknamed the Caspian Sea Monster, was a Russian Wing-In-Ground effect vehicle ( WIG) which flew for the first time in 1966. It utilises the 'Ground effect', an effect occurring when a wing travels close to the ground. It could lift 1,000 tonnes, was over 100 m long, weighed 540 tonnes fully loaded, and could travel over 400 km/h (250 mi/h), mere meters above the surface of the water. - Godzilla -- Monsters
Unlike Godzilla, Dentsu is one monster that doesn't leave Japan in ruins. One of the largest advertising conglomerates in the world, Dentsu is the #1 ad firm in Japan. Its numerous agencies operate in 27 countries and provide creative services for more than 6,000 clients, although sales outside Japan only account for a small percentage of revenue. Dentsu ... offers a host of other services, including public relations, media and event planning, and market research. The company has expanded its operations in Asia through a partnership with US-based Young & Rubicam and owns a 15% stake in ad conglomerate Publicis Groupe. - Poseidon -- Seas
One of the major deities in Greek mythology, Poseidon was the supreme ruler of the seas. The Romans called him Neptune. An awesome, unruly, and powerful god, Poseidon was associated with storms, earthquakes, and some other violent forces of nature. When angry, he could stir the sea to a fury. But he could ... calm the raging waters with just a glance. One of his titles, Enosichthon (Earth-shaker), reflected his ability to cause earthquakes by striking the earth and mountains with his trident. - Deep Blue Sea
May 1st 1998: Director Renny Harlin's big-budget, underwater actioner "Deep Blue Sea" will be the second film to go under Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow's new co-production deal, the studio said Thursday. Shooting begins August 3 at the Fox Baja Studios in Mexico. Story is about a scientist who, through genetic engineering, produces sharks with the intelligence of dolphins. - Hades -- Gods
One of the clearest proofs of consciousness in Sheol or Hades, is the fact that Jonah was pictured as being conscious in the belly of the sea monster for 3 days. The text, Jonah 2:2, says that Jonah was in Sheol. Jesus said "just as Jonah was in the belly of the sea monster for three days, so ... the son of man will be." Of course Arians make a double mistake of arguing that Jesus (God the Son) ceased to exist and became extinct for the three days He was in Hades. - Cryptozoology -- Unknown Animals
Cryptozoology is the study of animals not formally recognized by science, but supported in some way by other forms of evidence such as eyewitness accounts or tracks. Topics include big foot, loch ness monster and giant squid. Also covered are sasquatch, yeti and cryptozoology. Other areas are cryptozoology rod, abominable snowman and big foot sightings, as well as loch ness monster picture, plaster cast, skunk ape and more. - Godzilla -- Japanese Godzilla
Godzilla is one of the most recognizable assets of Japanese popular culture worldwide and remains an important facet of Japanese films, embodying the kaiju subset of the tokusatsu genre. He has been considered a filmographic metaphor for the United States. The earliest Godzilla films, especially the original Gojira, attempted to portray Godzilla as a frightening, nuclear monster. Godzilla represented the fears of many Japanese of a repetition of the nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.[5] As the series progressed, so did Godzilla himself, changing into a less destructive and more heroic character as the films became increasingly geared towards children. Today, the character has fallen somewhere in the middle, sometimes portrayed as a protector of the Earth (notably Tokyo) from external threats and other times as a bringer of destruction. The usual explanation of his character is that he defends the Earth from other kaiju not because of any liking toward humankind, but because he perceives other monsters as threats to his territory along with natural hostility to other monsters. - Roger Corman
Roger Corman is a living legend in the film industry. Known for his lean budgets and savvy knowledge of what works in Pop Culture, he is respected as a maverick who made films on his own terms. Between 1960 and 1964, Roger Corman would make eight film adaptations from the works of Edgar Allan Poe, seven of which would star Vincent Price. Not since the Golden Era of Horror in the 1930’s has an actor made such an impact on a genre. Together, Price and Corman became such a team in the public eye that each new Poe production was met with critical as well as world wide, box-office success and a lasting legacy in film history. - Faith Domergue -- Danger Lives
The craziness of Faith Domergues off-centre behavior in the first half of Where Danger Lives finds a warped reflection in the recurrent rip-offs she and Mitchum endure in its second half from sleazy elements recognizing theyre in a jam. But director Australian John Farrow (yes, Mias dad) is no Nicholas Ray, and by then its virtually too late for this leaden and improbable farrago. - Godzilla
In The Return of Godzilla, the famous monster is re-invented to be taller and more powerful, at 80 meters tall and 50,000 metric tons. Return of Godzilla ignores all previous films in the series aside from the original. Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah explains that this second Godzilla is the product of a botched time traveling mission by a group of terrorists from the 23rd century known as Futurians. Under the guise of wanting to save Japan from Godzilla's devastation, the Futurians travel back to 1944 and transport an injured Godzillasaurus residing on Lagos Island to the Bering Sea... preventing its exposure to the A-bombs. The Godzillasaurus lies dormant in the Bering Sea till the late 1970s, where it is exposed to radiation after a nuclear submarine accidentally detonates in the dinosaurs vicinity. Hungry for nuclear energy, the new Godzilla attacks a Soviet nuclear submarine before turning towards Japan as its predecessor in 1954 did, attacking the nation's nuclear power plants.
