San Francisco comedian and Bay Area native Scott Capurro appears as Aunt Jack, the lover of Harvey Fierstein and a hairdresser in the 1993 comedy Mrs. Doubtfire. Capurro launched his career at Josie's Cabaret in the Castro before becoming known as a gay comedian on the mainstream comedy circuit in the early 1990s. Shot on location in San Francisco, Mrs. Doubtfire was a huge financial success for director Chris Columbus and star Robin Williams. Williams plays a man who masquerades as a nanny to spend time with his kids under the nose of his estranged wife, Sally Field. Beauticians Capurro and Fierstein create the illusion. Capurro is now a familiar radio personality and has a following in Europe.

Scott Capurro may be best known as Robin Williams’ make-up man in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire, but he’s ... a stand-up comedian of considerable stature. Scott has a style which mixes Boys In The Band style camp and razor sharp politics into an incendiary cocktail, and he is able to improvise with great skill and confidence. He was nominated for the Perrier award in 1995, and won the Perrier best newcomer award in 1994.
Scott Capurro Scott Capurro has become known to STAR WARS fans around the world as one of the two hilarious POD RACE announcers; Fode. However Scott is so much more than that! He admires Scotland so much he named the country after his great uncle, Randolph Scott. Sadly Randolphland never stuck, so the locals, over their pints, characteristically chose the briefest and easiest way out. Since then, in a faerie land where English is ne’er spoken, Scott has pushed his mother tongue, and, in 1994, he miraculously won the Perrier Award with his magical show Risk Gay, an installation/performance chronicling the power of wind, where Scott mimed a glittering chime.
Stand-up comic, actor, playwright and author Scott Capurro was born and raised in San Francisco. Touted as the hottest gay stand-up on the circuit, he won the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1994 and was a strong nominee a year later.
